About Janet McClelland
Meet Janet: Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor

Janet qualified from Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh in 1983 with a diploma in Physiotherapy & merit in the practical exam. She subsequently worked in Dundee, Falkirk & Stirling ending up specialising in Medical and Care of the Elderly.
After leaving the NHS she gained her exercise to music qualification and became a Fully Certified Physiotherapy and Pilates teacher with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in 2010.
Since then she has built up her classes and practice in Dunblane. She now has classes throughout the Stirling area and uses Pilates to treat clients on an individual level. She was also formerly the pilates teacher at Gleneagles.
Due to her Physiotherapy background she is able to adapt her treatment and classes to suit the majority of clients. Other fitness Pilates classes do not have her anatomical and physiotherapy background and may not be able to set the level of exercises appropriate to each client.
What makes her classes unique and different from many others is her certified professional expertise. The class sizes are limited to 12 to enable her to correct and adapt individuals where necessary.
She has also continued to increase her knowledge by attending the following courses:-
Pilates and the theraband
Pilates and the ball
Anti/postnatal Pilates
3D standing
Postural Stability Course
Pilates for cyclists and runners
Posture and Pilates
First Aid
The Postural Stability Course allows her to work with the elderly to prevent falls and improve balance and strengthening.
